Japanese Manga Cover
Smile Pretty Cure! is a manga adaptation of the 2012 anime of the same name. It was written by Futago Kamikita. It was initially released in Japan in 2012 but later compiled into a complete book in 2015. Although the original anime inspired this Precure manga's theme, the plot of the manga is completely different from what most international Precure fans are already used to the anime. To date, there's currently no official English translation.
Differences between the Anime and Manga:[]
- Most of the Cures' one-shot different forms, such as their Mermaid tails for swimming underwater in episode 30, do not appear in this manga.
- The infamous bittersweet anime ending in episode 48, where Candy and Pop say goodbye to the sad Pretty Cures, and Miyuki and her friends all cry for their goodbye afterward, doesn't appear in the manga either.
- The Smile Precure! manga adaptation overall is much more child-friendly than the original anime because the more serious moments and fight scenes show up less often here.
