Set in a far flung medieval-looking world at an indeterminate time in the future, we are introduced to prince Joldi who has become a rebel with the aid of his brother, Hai Shartatt. Their goal is to stop their father Madaru, who has become a power hungry despot with a desire to conquer their world using giant robotic machines. In the vein of the heroic seeker, prince Joldi finds a legendary sword wielding the red giant robot called Galient and uses it in the fight to save their world from his father. His brother Hai Shartatt though has a different ambition and as the series evolves it is revealed that his true intentions are vastly different from those of his brother Joldi.
- Opening Theme - "The Galient World" by EUROX
- Ending Theme - "Hoshi No Ichibyou" by EUROX
The show's opening and ending musical themes were composed and performed by EUROX, a Japanese progressive rock band formed in 1984 in Tokyo, Japan.
The ending theme of the show was normally accompanied by nighttime shots of a sword stuck in the sand and images of the characters reflected on its blade as the credits flash on screen with the ending showing the same sword now being showered with rain (as reference to a line in the song about crying).
The final episode was different, with a tighter daylight shot on the sword that pans up to the handle. Prince Jorudi's hand then pulls the sword from the sand and lifts it up in the air and we see him embracing a princess-like female. The credits flash onscreen as the Prince and his companion look at each other as the images of the prince's father Madaru and several other characters appear onscreen with rose petals blowing in the wind completing the ending.
