RE-TAKE is a six-volume Evangelion unauthorized doujinshi; it is generally considered to be one of the best Evangelion doujinshi, and is elaborately produced, with an official soundtrack (OST), a trailer (of a hypothetical animated version)[1], and a re-release which omitted the hentai material for an all-ages RE-TAKE.
Plot
RE-TAKE is an alternate universe version of the Evangelion story; the point of divergence from the TV series is episode 16, "Splitting of the Breast". While a captive in the Dirac Sea, Shinji Ikari has, rather than the fleeting contact with his mother's soul in the original series, a vision of the entirety of the remaining events from the TV series and End of Evangelion.
