The series takes place after Shinji is recovered from the Dirac Sea. He finds a bandaged version of Asuka that only he can see, and be tormented by, and finds himself knowing what is going to happen, and trying to alter things this time around.
There is an all ages version, and a full version which contains some sex scenes.
In order of events, the books are 1,2,3,0,4, and After.
