Dantalian no Shoka (ダンタリアンの書架^?) is a light novel series written by Gakuto Mikumo and illustrated by G-Yuusuke. The series started serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's light novel magazine The Sneaker on February 29, 2008. A manga adaptation by Chako Abeno started serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's shōnen manga magazine Shōnen Ace on March 26, 2010. Another manga adaptation by Monaco Sena started serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's seinen manga magazine Comp Ace on March 26, 2010. An anime adaptation has been announced.^[1]^[2]

Characters

Yomihime

Dalian (ダリアン^?): Black yomihime (読姫^?, literally "reading princess"). She is the custodian of "Dantalian's Bookshelf" housing 900,666 gensho (幻書^?, literally "phantom books").
Flamberge (フランベルジュ^?): Silver yomihime or the long-lost library. She wears a white straitjacket with nine padlocks.; She has lost her memory.
Rasiel (ラジエル^?): Red yomihime. She wears an eyepatch with a keyhole.

Kagimori

Hugh Anthony Disward (ヒュー・アンソニー・ディスワード^?): Also known as Huey. Dalian's kagimori (鍵守^?, literally "keykeeper").
Hal Kamhout (ハル・カムホート^?): Flamberge's kagimori.
Professor (教授^?): Rasiel's kagimori.

Others

Camilla Sauer Keynes (カミラ・ザウアー・ケインズ^?): Huey's childhood friend. Dalian calls her "the spinster".
Armand Jeremiah (アルマン・ジェレマイア^?)
Jessica Elphinstone (ジェシカ・エルフィンストン^?): A student at the boarding school where Huey's aunt serves as the principal.
