Bart (バート Bāto?), stylized as BART, is a discontinued monthly Japanese visual perception magazine published by Shueisha from May 1991 to March 2000.[1] Targeted to white-collar workers from 22 to 32 year of age[1], the magazine premiered in May 1991. The magazine initially had sluggish sales, and in 1997 Nobuhiko Horie, editor-in-chief of the Shueisha's popular Weekly Shōnen Jump, took over as editor of Bart. To revive the publication, Horie overhauled the magazine's layout and content, turning it into one of Japan's top selling men's magazines.[2]

In August 1998, the magazine was renamed to Monthly Bart 3230, with an increased focus on digital media and the addition of serialized chapters from two seinen manga titles.[1] The 3230 was taken from the base telephone number used in the Shueisha offices.[1] In March 2000, the magazine was discontinued.
